Will be Returning to Writing Soon

Life commitments have delayed my output, but I'm looking forward to returning.

“Touch some grass” is a phrase that has become popular in recent years. It’s akin to the phrase “you’re too online” and points to the need to remain grounded in a world beset by ideological capture. It’s the equivalent to the Eastern spirituality phrase “stay in the moment” or Ram Dass’ famous 60’s phrase, “Be Here Now.”

Soon, I look forward to returning to writing for the Ground Experience Substack page. Several life challenges and personal projects kept me away for a while, and I look forward to returning to the writings, including the larger project All We Are: Dispatches from the Ground Experience.

These are trying times for many people, and it has been challenging for me as well as others to gain some clarity around what is happening—specifically with the Trump administration’s DOGE experiment.

As I have communicated in previous posts, I am more motivated with exploring meta-politics than with the play-by-play of electoral politics and policy battles. This is not because I deem myself to be above it all. Anyone who knows me personally knows that I have a rough-and-tumble street fighter aspect to the way I work in the world in different arenas (always with a mindful motivation to remain diplomatic for as long as I am able).

But, I am drawn to explore the theoretical models, beliefs, and value systems that motivate people to vote in a certain way and to craft policies in a certain way, and I look forward to further explorations of some of these models in the coming weeks.

I hope you are all well, and that you are able to step back every now and then to “touch some grass”.

It hasn’t been easy for me to practice touching grass, but I am doing my best.
